Perhaps you’re an enthusiast for skeletons, phosphorescence, Sartre, decay, smooth paper, The Shining, jellyfish, installation construction methods, the life-death threshold, or kittens — if so, this site is for you. I devote myself to these and other somewhat unhinged pursuits in my studio practice in Chicago, nerd out with my knowledge of contemporary art as a museum educator, and process it all into words for you here (and in my book). This blog will keep you updated on the inner workings of my studio methods, on my ongoing exploration of mortality in contemporary art, and on the texts, events, artworks, and ideas that inform my projects.

You need to see some credentials: I spent my formative years in the studios and classrooms at New York University (MFA, Studio Art), at the University of Illinois at Chicago (BFA, Studio Art), and at Loyola University Chicago’s Rome Center (studies in Italian literature, art, and extended train voyages).

My drawings, animations, and installations have traveled from Chicago as far as New York, Budapest, New Zealand, and Białystok, Poland. I’m rumored to have founded StepSister Press in a fit of enthusiasm for publishing and the arts.
