Kostnice Sedlec
From the ossuary in Kutná Hora-Sedlec in the Czech Republic, about an hour outside of Prague. I was awed and humbled to see this in person.

Yeah, isn’t that awesome? I was there in Summer of 2000, spent six weeks all over Europe and that ossuary is still one of my most vivid memories from the trip. It’s where I got the setting for this painting: http://jeriahhildwine.com/artwork/292601_Living_Dead_Girls_IV.html
Hope you’re having crazy fun! See you when you get home.

OOh, J man, do you have this painting in Chicago? I would like to see it in person. We’re back in town now, just posting the recent photos as I sort through them. Thanks for posting this; I wonder if we could start a running list of artists influenced by the bone churches?
